Information reaching us this morning confirms that no
fewer than 35 people, including five military personnel were allegedly killed
by a bomb explosion which rocked around Mararaba-Mubi area of Adamawa State
yesterday morning.
According to an eyewitness, a combine team of solders
and hunters were on routine patrol of the area after a successful capture of
Mubi town when the bomb planted by the insurgents exploded, killing 35 of them at
once. The eyewitness revealed that the spot where the bomb exploded is a busy
area where people gather to transact business and has been converted to a check
point by the military after the blast.
Please read the rest from the eyewitness:
“My house is some meters from the scene of the incident. I stood outside my compound watching the suburb and a of a sudden, I heard a loud bang which shook the entire surroundings. The few people who were returning to the area started running away and the area was immediately cordoned off by the military.”
However, hunters who voluntarily, are keeping vigil with
the military in the recovered areas of Adamawa State have vowed to do
everything possible in making sure that other captured towns in Adamawa State
are purged of insurgents very soon.
