“I want them to kill the dogs; I won’t return home”~Boy who was attacked by two dogs

Do you still remember the four-year-old boy, Omonigho Abraham who was attacked by two ferocious dogs while 7 policemen and sympathizers stayed aloof for fear of being attacked and did nothing to rescue the boy?  If you do, you will as well recall that when his mother arrived the scene and fought away the dogs and snatched him from their jaws, that it was reported that his scalp was already chopped off by the dogs. The good news is that he is recovering at Burns and Plastic Ward of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja but he said he would not return home until government and police kill the dogs.

Hear him:

“I was playing with my brothers when the dogs entered out flat. I could not jump, so they bit my head. I pinched Gaddafi (one of the dogs), but he did not leave me. It was when I heard the voice of my mummy that I woke up. I want them to kill the dogs; I won’t return home.”

Odiah, the father of the child who berated the police for failure to rescue his child, has accused the police of trying to muddle up the investigation.

He said,

“My wife even told me that at the gate when she was about rescuing the boy, she asked one of the seven policemen to follow her inside, but the policeman said, ‘am I the one that should follow you to go and die?. My wife said that was what gave her the courage to go inside to rescue the boy.”

He said he got a call from the Division Crime Officer of the Ignando Police Station asking him to come and order them to release the dogs.

‘She asked me to come and agree to release the dogs to the owner or else, they would release the dogs to the owner themselves. She said in the alternative, I should take the dogs to my house.”

Thankfully, he admitted the receipts of some support from Nigerians and the Governor of Delta State, Emmanuel Uduaghan who he said has sent his personal medical doctor, Dr. Ufoma, to discuss the possibility of flying the victim abroad for further treatment. He also said that the Lagos State Government has refunded money spent on the child’s treatment.

The police spokesperson, Nwosu who visited the victim at the hospital, promised to investigate the allegation against 7 policemen.
