The hapless innocent victim, Nnenna(Name withheld) , as
we gathered, fell into the hands of these ruffians while running errand for her
mum. On that a fateful day, Ngozi who hails
from Amaiyi, Ihitte Uboma local government area, but resides in Ehume with her
parents, was sent to buy a few things from the popular Onuimo Rescue Market,
Umungwa, Obowo. Nnenna, in a bid to quickly deliver on her parent’s assignment,
decided to take a bike to and from the market. She then boarded a motorcycle
piloted by 35-year-old Onyekachi Nwankwo, a native of Umunachi Obowo. Onyekachi had deceived the innocent yound girl
by telling her that he intended to pick his friend, Chike Njoku.
“My daughter innocently agreed. The story changed when Onyekachi picked his friend and veered off the road into a track leading to the boundary river between Umunachi and Umuagu communities in Obowo.” Said her angry father.
“When I saw the weapon they were holding, I had no option than to follow them. They parked the motorcycle inside the bush, pulled off my dress and had sex with me, one after the other. They left me to my fate thereafter.” Nnenna recalled in tears.
As at press time, according to Vanguard, all efforts
made to get a confirmation from the Police Relation Officer, PPRO, Mr. Andrew
Enwerem, proved abortive as his mobile could not be reached.
